AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 50, THE TOWN OF GRANT ZONING ORDINANCE
The Board of Supervisors of the Town of Grant, Washington County,
Minnesota, ordains as follows:
Section 1. Section 301, Definitions, is hereby amended by adding new definitions number 146 and number 147 as hereinafter set forth, and renumbering definitions number 146 through 185, inclusive, as numbers 148 through l87, inclusive.
301.Definitions.
"(146) _Riding Stable - Commercial. A facility for the purpose of containing, caring for, riding, driving or training of horses or other such animals for a fee or stipend."
"(147) Riding Stable - Private. A facility for the purpose of containing, caring for, riding, driving or training of horses or other such animals and for which a fee or stipend is not charged."
Section 2. Section 603, Zoning District Map, is hereby amended by adding the following as 603.03:
"603.03. Uses shall be allowed according to the Use Table, Section 604. When a specific use is not listed, the closest similar listed use shall determine the restrictions and conditions which apply."
Section 3. Section 730.06 is hereby amended by deleting the section in its entirety and substituting therefor the following:
"730.06. Hazards and Nuisances. The keeping of horses, cattle or other domestic farm animals on a site with less than two (2) acres of existing grazable land per animal unit is hereby declared to be a nuisance. No domestic farm animals shall be placed on any site of less than five (5) acres."
Section 4. That Section 730.07 is hereby amended by deleting the section in its entirety and substituting therefore the following:
"730.07. Grazable Acres. Grazable acres shall be defined as dry land exclusive of the home- site and its yard. For purposes of determining the number of animals permitted per two grazable acres, the following animal equivalents apply:

1 Sheep 0.1
1 Turkey 0.018
1 Chicken 0.01
1 Duck 0.2
Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its publication according to law.
