REGULATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES UPON THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN THE TOWN OF GRANT, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE TOWN OF GRANT DOES ORDAI N:

Section 1. Regulation of operation except for sections 169.02; 169.04; 169.10; 169.11; 169.66; 169.78; 169.96 to 169.966; 169.971 to 169.973; 169.98 and 169.991 to 169.998 Minnesota Statutes
1969, Chapter 169. known as the Highway Traffic Violation Act as amended is hereby adopted as the traffic regulations ordinance of the Town of Grant, Washington County, Minnesota. Every provision contained in the said statute is hereby adopted and made a part of this ordinance by reference as if fully set forth herein.

Section 2. Scope.

A) The provisions of this ordinance relating to operation of vehicles refer to streets and highways within the Town of Grant, Washington County, Minnesota.

B) It is unlawful and a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or to fail to perform any act required in this ordinance.

C) No person shall lawfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any peace officer invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic.

Section 3. Penalty. Any person who shall do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00 or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 90 days or both.

Section 4.  Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to law.
